I am a licensed psychologist who graduated with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Miami University in OH and a BA from Middlebury College in VT. I have built my career around developing deep expertise and experience in the treatment of traumatic stress, depression, psychological impact of high stakes careers, and relationship problems.
Since 2005, I have been fortunate to work with individuals across the lifespan in a number of different clinical settings. I founded my private practice in 2019 to provide evidence-based trauma treatment, obtaining certification in the gold standard trauma treatments of EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy. While it is meaningful for me to help anyone work through trauma, in my practice, I have had a particular focus on serving physicians, surgeons, military, and special operations forces, as a trusted referral partner for the Colorado Physician Health Program, the Headstrong Project, and the SOF Network.
Prior to opening my own business, I was the clinic director for the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center where I led the launch of the clinic and provided evidence-based treatments for veterans and their families. I also served as the assistant director of clinical services and trauma response at the University of Denver’s Health and Counseling Center, leading the university’s trauma prevention and response for sexual assault and gender violence. I have served as the team lead for a comprehensive DBT program at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis where I led the assessment and management of risk for the outpatient program. Other clinical training and employment opportunities have included work at an academic medical center, university counseling center, children’s residential treatment center, and community mental health.
In addition to my clinical focus, I enjoy serving community around broader prevention efforts. Previously, I was elected to serve as the President of the Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Colorado Chapter, whose mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. I also served on the state steering committee for the CDC’s Domestic Violence Enhancement and Leadership through Alliances (DELTA) program in North Carolina, focusing on preventing intimate partner violence.
On a personal note, I am a married mother of two children and love spending time with my family. For self-care, I enjoy skiing, hiking, pilates, and being in nature. I also am a dual Irish citizen and have a fondness for Irish culture and community.
